Their tragic story made national headlines in July of 2011, and now a 5K is being planned in Plano to raise money for Peter, Aaron, and Willa Berry of Houston.

While returning from a family vacation to Colorado last July, parents Joshua and Robin Berry and their three children, Peter, 9, Aaron, 8, and Willa, 6, were hit head on by another vehicle that crossed into their lane of traffic. Both Joshua and Robin were killed in the accident. Peter and Aaron sustained serious spinal cord injuries and are paralyzed from the waist down, Willa suffered broken bones.

The Berry Family 5K, 1-Mile Family Fun Run, and Dr. Paul Rubin and Frisco Kids Dental 50-Yard Dash will be held on March 24th, 2012 at Granite Park in Plano. The proceeds, less costs to vendors to operate the race, will be donated directly to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children's Trust in Houston, Texas. The money will help cover costs for medical rehabilitation, physical therapy, psychological support and education for the Berry children.

The registration fees for the races are as follows:

5K Fees:

  • $30 late registration March 1 through March 22, 2012
  • $35 Race Day (cash or check only, please)

1M Fun Run Fees:
