JPIIHS Senior Sarah Kite Signs With Drury University

Plano, Texas, April 14, 2015 – JPIIHS Senior Sarah Kite signed to play volleyball for Division II Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Kite, who also plays club volleyball for Excel Volleyball Club, will play for coach Jenifer Bahner in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. “When I visited the school and I met the team it sealed the deal. I loved how the team worked together and the coaching style that the coaches used,” said Kite.

Kite, a three-year member of the varsity, stands out because of her leadership. “She’s a great athlete and will work hard on and off the court,” said JPIIHS volleyball coach Nicki Gonzalez. “She will be a great addition to the Drury University Volleyball team. ”

She was a varsity co-captain this year, and in 2014 was named First Team All District, Honorable Mention All State, and Offensive Hitter of the Year. She was the MVP of her club team in 2013, and named Ms. Excel in 2014.

In addition to volleyball, Sarah is a very involved student. She chose Drury in part because of its academic reputation. “The academics are amazing,” she said. “It's a small school with small classes and a 94% graduation rate. All of these characteristics made me want to go there.”  She’s a member of the Cardinal Crew and a Yearbook photographer, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and her church’s Vacation Bible School.
