JPIIHS senior Sarah Kite won the Peopleís Choice Award for Congressman Pete Sessions' Congressional Art Competition for her photo "Just a Mild Texas Day". Her artwork was chosen after a week-long Internet poll, and will hang in Congressman Sessions' office for one year. JPIIHS students Lexi Rambo and Abby Merz were finalists in Congressman Sam Johnson's Congressional Art Competition.
