Alberto Mena graduated from University of Texas and moved to New York City to soak up the culture and vibe. It was a far cry from his South Texas childhood.

While he has found inspiration in a variety of work, Mena focuses on photography. Much of his collection of black-and-white photographs that are fused with digital drawings has been on exhibit in WAAS Gallery in Deep Ellum for a month.

Upcoming exhibitions include Drew Merritt's "Chiaroscuro" starting Aug. 4.
