Dr Pepper StarCenter Plano Reopens After Extensive Renovations and Improvements

he Dr Pepper StarCenter Plano re-opened on Saturday, June 23 with a complete make-over after being closed for a period of time. The official community grand opening is Saturday, July 21. The events are open to the public as follows:

  • 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Public Skate - “Like” Dr Pepper StarCenter-Plano on Facebook and skate for free!
  • 5 p.m. — Official On-Ice Ribbon Cutting and Welcome with Dallas Stars’ Play-by-Play Announcer, Ralph Strangis, City of Plano Mayor Phil Dyer and other city dignitaries, Dallas Stars Ice Girls, Dallas Stars Alumni Brent Severyn- Immediately following is an on-ice figure skating show and complimentary Sunny D and Neuro from Dr Pepper
  • 6 p.m. — Hockey demonstrations and classes with Dallas Stars’ Alumni and Brent Severyn’s

The $2.5M in improvements can be seen throughout the facility including fresh paint, conversion to LED lighting, new ice sheets, dasher boards and several new locker rooms for the in-house travel association, Dallas Junior Hockey Association (DJHA). In addition, Severyn Sports offers a new fitness and hockey training center within the facility managed by Brent Severyn who is frequently found on the ice at the StarCenters. 

The Dr Pepper Star Center Plano is an important hub to serve North Dallas and Plano for all ice-related needs from learn-to-skate, youth and adult hockey leagues, figure skating, special events and open skate for all ages. Four high school hockey teams will call this home including Plano High School, Plano East High School, Plano West High School and John Paul II High School.
