The 22nd annual Susan G. Komen North Texas Plano Race for the Cure is happening this Saturday, June 9, at the campuses of HP and The Campus at Legacy. The event organizers are expecting a turnout in the thousands and even those that aren't participating are invited to come out and show their support.

The event begins at 6:00 a.m. with on-site registration that will last until 7:45. At 7:30 a.m., breast cancer survivors are invited to the Survivor Tent for a Survivor Group Photo. Competitors are invited to an aerobic warm-up at 7:45 a.m. and the competitive 5K will start at 7:55 a.m.

The casual 5K walk/run will start 10 minutes later at 8:05 a.m. and the 1-mile family fun run/walk will take place at 8:30 a.m. The final event - the 50-yard Kids Dash - will take place at 9:30 a.m. with the Survivor Celebration and Awards Ceremony taking place afterwards at 9:45 a.m.

There will be music performances by DownTown Fever and the McKinney Boyd High School Jazz Choir.
