All three senior high schools in Plano have been named among the top 100 Texas High Schools by U.S. News & World Report. Plano West led the pack at No. 27; Plano Senior was second at No. 51; Plano East brought up the rear at No. 87.

According to U.S. News, Plano West Senior High School has a student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1, which is larger than the Texas average of 12:1. Plano West scored a 51.8 in college readiness, a 3.5 in math comprehension and a 3.5 in reading comprehension. All three of those scores are above the Texas average.

Plano Senior High School, which finished at No. 51, has a student-to-teacher ratio of 17:1 and a college readiness score of 43.7. It's math comprehension score is 3.4 while the reading comprehension score is 3.5.

Finally, Plano East Senior High School had the best student-to-teacher ratio at 15:1. However, East scored the lowest in the other three categories with a 31.4 college readiness, 3.3 in math comprehension and a 3.4 in reading comprehension.

Aside from ranking just Texas high schools, U.S. News also reviewed and ranked 22,000 high school across the nation. In the national rankings, Plano West ranked No. 326, Plano Senior ranked No. 558 and Plano East finished at No. 1026.
