The City of Plano is rolling out its new notification system Plano City Call. Plano City Call is replacing the previous notification service Blackboard Connect.

Plano City Call allows the city to warn the entire community or specific neighborhoods in real time about emergencies and changes to neighborhood services. The new system delivers emergency and informational messages specific to a Plano neighborhood automatically on a land line phone. Plano residents may sign up to receive alerts on their cell phone by text message, call or email about tornado warnings, West Nile Virus sprays, changes to garbage schedules and more.

“A safe community is a connected community” says Marketing and Community Engagement Director Mary-Vail Grube. “Plano City Call will ensure that our residents receive emergency notices immediately and are promptly informed on changes to services within the city”.

Plano residents are encouraged to sign up to personalize their information at www.plano.gov/citycall.
