John Paul II High School will hold a special Mass on campus to celebrate the canonization date of Blessed Pope John Paul II on April 28 at 10 a.m.

The event holds special significance for the school, which chose the saint as its namesake for his work with youth and spirit of service.

“Saint John Paul II is an inspiration to our youth,” says Sister Peggy Szeljack, Director of Ministries at John Paul II High School. “He was an athlete, an actor, a scholar, and a peacemaker. He valued relationships. He knew trials and lived the words 'Be not afraid'...'trust in the Lord.' What better role model for our youth than to emulate this man?”

The special Mass will commemorate the actual Canonization date at the Vatican of Sunday, April 27.
