Returning to Texas\, she worked for Texas governo r John Connally and served as Communication Director for the Texas Fine Ar ts Commission in Austin from 1967 to 1969.   Later\, she was the press and social secretary to Lady Bird Johnson\, assisting in her efforts beautify Austin’s Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake) and protect wildflowers along Tex as Highways.    Prior to this she was Executive Assistant to President Lyn don B. Johnson.  \nIn 1976\, Martha moved to Dallas where she started her own firm\, Martha Tiller Public Relations.
