DALLAS- Back for the sixth year, the 2016 Dallas Travel & Adventure Show, part of the largest series of consumer travel shows in the U.S. returns to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center January 30-31. The popular tradeshow connects avid travelers with the world’s top travel providers, who in turn share insider knowledge about top domestic and international destinations, the latest travel tips and exclusive travel deals.  Attendees will have access to travel celebrity speakers, dozens of seminars, trip giveaways, prizes and fun activities for the entire family. 

Headliners for the upcoming show include “Frommer Guides” editor Pauline Frommer, Travel Writer and Host of Rick Steves’ Europe, Rick Steves, CBS News Travel Editor Peter Greenberg, and The New York Times bestseller 1,000 Places to See Before You Die author Patricia Schultz who each will present as keynote speakers.

In addition to the wide variety of exhibitors from both international and domestic locations, the event features multiple theaters designed to educate and entertain.  Wanderlust travelers can attend the Destination Theater and hear locale-specific workshops focused on Australia & New Zealand, Alaska, India, among others.  The Savvy Traveler Theater sessions will provide attendees the opportunity to gain valuable tips and tricks for traveling smarter, more safely and with fewer hassles. 

Tingling the taste buds will be the culinary demonstrations at the Taste of Travel Theater  produced by Amy Kushnir and Garth Blackburn from Taste Texas TV. Notable chefs such as Pink Magnolia’s Blyth Beck, Chamberlain’s Restaurant Richard Chamberlain will be on hand creating cuisines from around the world.

For those wishing to immerse themselves further into an exotic culture, the Global Beats Theater will feature local performers presenting traditional song and dance from around the globe.

Hundreds of vendors and travel experts will be showcasing thousands of destinations on the exhibit floor and will provide insight and ideas for attendees as they plan every aspect of their next vacation. New to the show is a crowd favorite from other Travel & Adventure Shows, camel rides, for voyagers who wish to envision destinations afar.


For the adventurous traveler considering a scuba getaway, there’s opportunity for an early plunge in the “Be a Diver”, 18,000-gallon heated dive pool, sponsored by DEMA. Learn basics and have photo bragging rights with your underwater “Selfie”. Those wanting to be closer to nature will enjoy scaling the 25-Foot Rock-Climbing Wall.

Returning to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (650 S. Griffin St. Dallas, Texas 75202), The Dallas Travel & Adventure Show is two days only: January 30th-31st. On Saturday, the show opens at 9:30 a.m. for travel trade only, with general public hours set from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. On Sunday, the show opens at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Single-day tickets are available online for $9 or at the door for $12.
