Faith Lutheran School today announced that the school has hired Brittany Newton to serve as the school’s fifth grade teacher.

Newton was recruited to serve at Faith Lutheran School after the school's former fifth grade teacher, Marlene Strandt of Plano, retired at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

"Faith Lutheran School has provided a strong presence among private schools in the area for more than 35 years. We are thrilled to add Brittany to our staff, because we know she is dedicated to providing excellent, high-quality, Christ-centered leadership and education for our students," said Faith Lutheran School Headmaster Rev. Stephen W. Kieser of Plano.

Newton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and theology from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. Newton resides in Plano.
