On Saturday, December 5, Heritage Farmstead Museum of Plano hosted its 29th annual Lantern Light, a holiday family event for all ages.  This year's event was themed "Home for the Holidays."

"Lantern Light is a unique holiday experience that provides Heritage Farmstead Museum visitors the opportunity to recall holiday traditions from days gone by," said Heritage Farmstead Museum Executive Director M'Lou Hyttinen.

The event featured tours of the holiday exhibit in the Farrell Wilson House, children's crafts in the one room school house, wagon rides, candle dipping, historic demonstrations, storytelling, songs of the season in the historic pole barn, delicious treats and photos with Santa.

For the first time, the event also featured ice skating.  The meadow on the Heritage Farmstead property near 15th street was transformed into an ice skating pond.

This year, the event also showcased a new exhibit hosted by the Dallas Costumers Guild that included four 30-minute presentations on “Dressing for the Holidays: Historic Fashion Trends."

Heritage Farmstead Museum is located at 1900 West 15th Street in Plano.
