Students from Faith Lutheran School recently conducted a Walk-A-Thon to raise money for Orphan Grain Train.  Students raised more than $1,500.00 for the non-profit by walking a total of 4,955 laps at on the Faith Lutheran School campus, which is located in Plano, Texas.

Orphan Grain Train is a Christian volunteer network that ships donated food, clothing, medical and other needed items to people in 62 different countries including the USA.

"Students from Kindergarten through high school participated in the two-hour walk along with teachers, administrators and faculty members," said Faith Lutheran School Headmaster Rev. Stephen W. Kieser of Plano.  "It was a great success, and everyone participating had a wonderful time getting exercise while raising money for Orphan Grain Train."

Prizes were awarded to students from each grade that walked the most laps.  Prizes were also awarded to students from each grade that collected the most pledges. Faith Lutheran School third grader Olivia Ottmers of McKinney walked 105 laps at the event - the most laps among all participants. Faith Lutheran School third grader Elizabeth Crawford of Plano raised almost $200 at the event, more than any other participant.
