Kick off the New Year with Collin County ZTA Alumnae

Collin County Zeta Tau Alpha alumnae will gather on January 10, for their first event of 2017.  The chapter will hold its annual White Elephant Auction, where attendees bring wrapped white elephant gifts that will be sold during a live auction.  This lively auction is a favorite chapter event, and sometimes members use this as an opportunity to pass on that unwanted gift received for Christmas!  The auction benefits the chapter’s Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation scholarship that will be awarded to an active collegian member.

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1898 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, VA, and has more than 245,000 members worldwide. One of the nation’s largest women’s fraternal groups, ZTA develops members’ leadership, academic and service skills, and supports breast cancer education and awareness.

The Collin County Alumnae Chapter was formed in 2004, to serve ZTA members who live and work in and near Collin County.  This dynamic group enjoys a combination of social and service activities, and they are well known for teaming with local high schools to distribute Think Pink ribbons at football games during breast cancer awareness month. The Collin County Alumnae Chapter received the District President’s Award in 2016.  They were awarded Crown Chapter and were named the top alumnae chapter in the nation for Panhellenic involvement at 2016 Convention.

All alumnae members of ZTA are invited to attend.  For the meeting details and location, send an email to CollinCountyZetas@gmail.com.  For more information, visit CollinCountyZetaTauAlpha.org.
