October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and on Friday, October 2nd, the Collin County Business Alliance (CCBA) will host a Cyber Security Leadership Forum. Cybercrime is no longer just a problem faced by companies’ IT departments, but is also top of mind for boards of directors and top executives. The CCBA has organized this cybersecurity leadership forum to provide a unique platform for the public and private sectors to come together, with the goal of moving the conversation forward to help combat cybercrime.

Featured speakers include:

  • Keynote: Gen. Keith Alexander, the former Commander of U.S. Cyber Command and the former director of the National Security Agency (NSA)
  • Keynote: Gen. Michael V. Hayden, the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the NSA
  • Panelists participating in breakout sessions from different businesses, government agencies and third-party organizations including Capital One, Intel Security, the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Center for Internet Security, University of Texas at Dallas and Southern Methodist University

“For the first time, the CCBA is addressing a topic that directly impacts businesses not just in Collin County, but around the world,” said CCBA Chairman and Capital One Financial Services President, Sanjiv Yajnik. “The CCBA is comprised of business leaders who believe that we have the responsibility to take action now to shape our vibrant community, or we put our future success at risk. By exploring solutions and opening up the discussion on the pervasive issue of cybersecurity, the CCBA is helping ensure North Texas business leaders can directly interact with each other, elected officials and representatives of government agencies on this critical topic.”

The morning keynote session featuring Gen. Alexander will address the global cybersecurity landscape and provide insight into noteworthy trends in cybersecurity. The luncheon keynote featuring Gen. Hayden will address security in the board room and discuss how the current discussion regarding cybersecurity is shaping how boards think and give direction on security.

Panel discussions will be held in between the keynotes; topics include:

  • The Future of Cybersecurity
  • Policy and Enforcement Perspectives
  • Connected Devices: Panacea or Pandora’s Box
  • Public/Private Collaboration

The forum will be held from 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. at the Capital One Conference Center in Plano located at 8036 Dominion Parkway.
