 edar Creek Lake \n   \nThe Dairy Queen of Seven Points\, Texas will host t
 he 22 nd  Annual Open Auto Show on Saturday\, October 12 th  \, benefiting
  the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake. Last year’s show raised more than
  $8\,000 to help support their mission\, including transporting animals ac
 ross the country for adoption.  \n“Over the past 10 years\, we’ve donated
  more than $40\,000 to the Humane Society thanks to the generosity of our
  community\,” said Shirley Leone\, owner of the Dairy Queen of Seven Point
 s. “In 2022 we donated a new “Danny Van\,” named in honor of my late husba
 nd who was a generous supporter of the Humane Society. Admission is free f
 or two or four-legged spectators.” \nRegistration will open at 11 a.m. wit
 h a 2:30 p.m. awards presentation. Entry fee is $20 per car with a donatio
 n of dog or cat food. Proceeds from the event\, including all the donated
  pet food\, will go to the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake. \n“It’s tru
 ly my favorite day of the year\,” said Mrs. Leone. “We’ll have music\, foo
 d specials\, a 50/50 raffle drawing\, and lots of great items in our silen
 t auction. And the most amazing cars and their proud and competitive owner
 s” \nAwards will be presented in 28 different categories\, including Model
  A\; Best Bike\; Truck\; 4x4\; Sports Car\; Best Restored\; Factory Hot Ro
 d\; Street Rod\; 50s/60s\; 70s/80s\; Muscle Car\; Project\; Import\; Most
  Unique\; Most Radical\; Best Patina\; plus 10 Head Turners and one Best o
 f Show. Custom awards are created by Trey Hall\, who creates a unique DQ d
 esign every year.   \nLast year’s event drew over 60 classy vehicles with
  Gary Smith of Athens\, Texas taking home the Best of Show with his 1937 B
 lack Ford Convertible. \n“We have a special Kids Class Award for entries b
 y kids 12 years old and under\,” said Leone. “The only requirement is that
  the vehicle must have wheels. No engine required. We leave the rest to th
 eir imagination! It’s so much fun to see what they dream up.” \nDairy Quee
 n of Seven Points also will donate a percent of the overall days sales\, 1
 00 percent of sales from the Skeeter Cups (soft serve cups with dog treats
  on top) to the Humane Society. In addition\, proceeds from the 50/50 raff
 le and t-shirt sales will benefit the Humane Society. Another sponsor incl
 udes the Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club with a significant donation.
    \n“We look forward to the car show every year\,” said Leone. “It’s grea
 t to see so many friends come out in support of the DQ and the Humane Soci
 ety’s mission.” \nThe Dairy Queen of Seven Points is located at 110 W. Ced
 ar Creek Parkway off Highway 334 at 274. The event is open to the public.
