SUMMARY:32nd Annual Solar Car Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Solar Car Challenge will host 27 high school-age teams
  from across the country\, including 13 from Texas. The Challenge sees abo
 ut 300 teenagers\, who have built their solar cars from the ground up over
  the past year or longer\,  race around Texas Motor Speedway for four days
 \, with the winning team in each category having traveled the greatest dis
 tance. \nSpectators are invited to watch the race\, which happens from 9 a
 .m. to 5 p.m. Sunday\, July 20 through Wednesday\, July 23\, from Texas Mo
 tor Speedway’s infield. Enter through the South tunnel. Spectators must we
 ar closed-toed shoes and wide-brimmed hats. \nThe Solar Car Challenge\, wh
 ich won the 2024 D CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards’ Innovat
 ion in Education category\, was established in 1993 by educator Dr. Lehman
  Marks. The program is designed to motivate students in science\, engineer
 ing and alternative energy. Preparations for this year’s race began with e
 ducational workshops last September\, though it can take teams two to thre
 e years to see their ideas come to fruition. \nThe 2025 race will feature
  a new racing division – Cruiser – which requires cars to have four doors
  with the solar array embedded in the body of the solar car. \nFor more in
